Refrigerator light would not turn on when opening door.

Removed old switch with screwdriver (flat head), unplugged the old switch, plugged in new switch and snapped back in place.

Refrigerator light would not stay on when the door was open

Painting tape to protect refrigerator finish, small screwdrivers to pry out old part

I watched a You tube video and followed instructions exactly. I unplugged the refrigerator, used painters tape to frame the old switch and used two small screwdrivers to pry out the switch. The hardest part was removing the old switch. I had to use more force than expected to pry out the old switch and am glad I used the tape to prevent marring the finish around the switch. Once the switch was removed, I disconnected it, plugged in the new switch and placed it back into position. The light comes on now every time the door is opened.
