Problem
Voltage spike rendered refrigerator inoperable (completely dark).
Tools
1/4 socket drive with 3" long slim shank (I used the drive shank of a screwdriver with removable bits)
Repair & Advice
Disconnected power source. Checked compressor terminal resistance to make sure compressor didn't show signs of damage. Removed the old control panel housing with one screw toward the front and then slide the unit forward to release from the pair of studs in the center. Lower the housing slightly. Unplug the wiring harness connector. Replace with new control panel and housing assembly. Reverse steps for installation. Replacement of the control panel unit only took about 15 minutes, once I found the right nut driver to reach the screw. This appears to have completely repaired the problem. Fridge has been operating properly for a week now.

Repair & Advice
I love I could buy the board only or the entire assembly. Entire assembly was my choice, make it easy for the little extra money. Exact replacement no issues at all, a screwdriver and a connector, 10 minutes and done.
