Problem
Gas oven broiler igniter needed to be replaced
Tools
#1 square drive screwdriver
Repair & Advice
Pretty straightforward: (1) Remove back of range and disconnect the two-wire molex plug leading to the igniter, (2) Remove the oven door to make access more comfortable (optional), (3) remove oven racks, (4) remove three screws that hold up the square flat pan that distributes the broiler flame (whatever that's called), (5) remove two screws that hold up the igniter, (6) reverse steps to reassemble. p.s. The first time you fire up the broiler, it can take a long time to ignite the flame... like 15 minutes. Be patient. My guess is that there is a coating on the igniter that has to "burn off."

Problem
Oven would not heat up. Also smelled gas when trying to use the oven.
Tools
Screwdriver, pliers, nut driver.
Repair & Advice
Everything went according to plan, except that the wire length on the new part was shorter than the original part. Thankfully, I was able to successfully reroute the wiring. Now, oven quickly reaches temperature and works as designed.

Problem
Oven failed to get up to temperature. Occasional jet engine flame out sound.
Tools
Philips screwdriver, quarter inch driver. Wire splicer, heat shrink wire tube. Led light.
Repair & Advice
Be very careful. Igniter will shatter into a million pieces if you drop it on a tile floor. Hint leave it in the bubble wrap while you get ready. Pull the old one. No need on my stove to remove back. Accessed the connections from the removed pan drawer. Cut of old connector near the old igniter. Cut off new connections and splice in old - you will need the extra length as the new wires are several inches too short as mentioned in the installation video i watched. Would have rated part higher if I did not have to use/ splice in old wires.
