Repair & Advice
My Frigidaire Professional dishwasher had a faulty touchpad; some of the keys didn't work. I was able to find several Youtube videos that showed how to replace the touchpad (or control panel, same thing). When done replacing the panel, reinstalling the outside panel of the door, which needed to be removed in order to access the control panel, was not absolutely easy but it was not extremely hard either. It took several tries to get it right. I would recommend a helper for that part of the repair. For an inexperience person only two hands may not be enough to hold the several loose parts that need to be held together when driving the screws that hold the outside skin of the door. But the savings by doing it myself were considerable. The part cost me $84 (shipping included). A repair person, I'm pretty sure, wouldn't have charged me less than $250 for the job. Of course, I got lucky that the problem was the control panel as I suspected and not something else. I took my chances and it worked.
