Problem
Initially, my freezer was leaking onto the floor so I defrosted with a heat gun and blew the thermal fuse as a result. Needed to replace the entire unit as the fuse is not replaceable.
Tools
Phillips Screwdriver, Needle Nose pliers, Tin snips, Pry tools
Repair & Advice
I went to youtube and searched "replacing LG freezer defroster" and there was an easy to follow video. It did involve using Tin Snips to cut one of the support brackets but this saves a lot of headache when trying to remove/replace the defroster.

Problem
My LG refrigerator was reading an error code 'F dH'. After researching the meaning of the code on the internet, I learned that the freezer was not defrosting properly and that the defrost heater assembly had to be replaced.
Tools
Screwdriver, metal cutter.
Repair & Advice
I had to unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours to allow the ice in the back of the freezer on the coils to melt completely. Then I removed the freezer drawers with a screwdriver by removing the screws on both side of the drawers (two drawers). Then I pried the back panel open by pulling it forward to reveal the coils and heater assembly. I had to cut the bottom of the coil holding the heater assembly to remove it which was easy to do with a scissors because the coil is soft metal. I pulled out the assembly then disconnected the fuse connection and pulled out the assembly completely. I removed the clip for the old assembly and put it on the new assembly the place the new assembly underneath the coil in the exact same position as the old assembly and bent the coil back in place. Then reconnected the fuse and placed the other two wire tips in the same position as the old assembly. I used a zip tie to secure the main wire to the side of the coil as was seen in the old assembly. I replaced the panel then the drawers and plugged the refrigerator back in. It has been working fine since. The process only took about 30 minutes and only required two tools. It would have been a little easier if I could have removed the drawer guide on the left side as shown in the YOUTUBE video, but that was hard to do so I worked around it. Also, my freezer has two drawers and the bar in the middle created a little obstacle, but I was able to work around that as well because I could not remove it. If you able to remove those two things, then the job would be much easier.

Problem
Evaporator was freezing up, old one was working but not as efficient any more. Bought this and it seems to have cured the problem. Have strong cold air coming back to the fridge area/not freezer. Food wasn’t cooling.
Tools
Pliers for cutting metal, and regular pliers.
Repair & Advice
Pretty simple to fix. Take out everything from the freezer section. Remove the panel(fan assembly), locate defrost assembly underneath evaporator. Memorize connection locations. Cut metal at the bottom of evaporator, it is secured on both sides(can go back and bend metal when finished). Remove defrost assembly and insert the new one. Don’t forget to pull up on the evaporator so that you get some more clearance. Recommend doing this when the fridge is unplugged.
