Repair & Advice
For this repair, I replaced the defrost heater and all of the related sensors in the freezer, along with the freezer gasket. I pulled out the fridge, unplugged it, removed the freezer racks, removed the freezer door, removed the temperature sensor, removed the back panel, removed the defrost sensor, cut the bracket on the right holding the defrost heater in place, removed the defrost heater, replaced the defrost heater, replaced the defrost sensor, zip-tied the sensor in place, replaced the temperature sensor, replaced the back panel, replaced the door gasket, reinstalled the door, reinstalled the freezer racks.
The whole process took me about 1.5 hours.
For good measure, I cleaned out the coils in the back of the fridge and cleaned out the drain tube.
