Problem
Filter plate seal was degrading and coming apart.

Repair & Advice
The seal on our dishwasher's filter plate was turning to pulp after 5 years. Very disappointing considering the cost of a "Fisher & Paycheck". I searched the internet with the model number, found the part number on a schematic and then discovered that the part number had a new "equivalent". Parts Dr had the best price. Crossed my fingers when I ordered but it fit perfectly and everything is working fine now.

Problem
My filter plate was getting old and mildewy. Has been cleaned several times, but wasn't getting totally clean anymore. Decided to replace with a new one and new filter basket.
Tools
None.
Repair & Advice
Removed the dish and silverware baskets. Removed the filter baskets (replaced this part as well). Removed the blade and rubber ring. Twisted the center piece to unlock the existing filter plate. Cleaned all parts. Discarded existing filter plate. Replaced with new filter plate. Replaced other parts, freshly cleaned.

Filter plate gasket disintegrating
Tools

Repair & Advice
FisherPaykel dish drawer Filter plate gasket noted to be missing in places and disintegrating which allowed food debris to get around the filter basket. Searched on line for a replacement part. Don't think the gasket can be replaced so bought the entire filter plate. PartsDR had part. Ordered on line and got it in the mail quickly. Job finished quickly. No tools needed. Can see videos explaining how to do this on youTube.
