Repair & Advice
First, it is difficult to find a Robertshaw Water Inlet Valve anywhere, but happily, Parts Dr. had it in stock! The new Valve is form-fit-function identical to the existing one, so all that had to be done was turn-off the water supply to the Refrigerator, then disconnect both Poly Tubes from the old valve, disconnect the Faston Terminals from both Coils, use the Nut Driver to remove the two Screws holding the Valve Bracket to the Refrigerator Frame, then reverse the foregoing procedure to install the new Valve. After installation, place an 8-ounce glass under the Water Dispenser Orifice and dispense a full glass to purge any air from the lines and then observe that when the glass is removed there is no dripping from the Orifice--then your installation is complete. It would also be a good idea to have an inline Water Filter--either at the Refrigerator if it is designed for it to be mounted there--or under the sink where Water Supply is located. The Filter will not only remove chlorine/chloramine taste from the water, but also filter out small sediment particles, and for certain types of filters dissolved calcium/magnesium, that might over time cause the seals in the Valve to not seat fully when closed and therefore result in dripping of water from the Orifice.
