Washer wouldn’t drain, pump wouldn’t turn on

I used a submersible pump to drain the washer, but water still spilled all over the floor when I tipped it over, so be ready for a mess. It might be possible to avoid some of that by keeping it tipped at an angle. I used a socket wrench because my screwdriver kept slipping, which made it a lot easier. I took off some of the hoses still attached to the pump since it was hard to get them off with the pump still in place.
