Discovered the broken strap while opening the machine to replace the spray nozzle. Parts Dr. has excellent step by step videos on both repairs. It took less than 10 minutes to replace the straps.

During the spin cycle, the washer was spinning out of balance more frequently. The bands that attach to the top of the drum we’re stretched.

Only a screwdriver.

Simple repair. Open the cover and pull up to remove. Next, remove the two screw covers and then the screws that hold the top cover on. They are towards the front of the unit on each side. Once removed, pull up on the front of the cover which reveals the four straps located in each corner. While holding the cover up, remove and replace, each strap. Replace screws and cover.
