Repair & Advice
Replaced the washer motor. Removed front Cover on the Speed Queen AWN45NW Model. Motor Located in the front of the washer. Removed Electrical from the Plug harness on top of the washer motor. I did not have an electrical Capacitor to remove on my model but others in this generation do. Took off the Drive belt from the Drum to the motor by taking the tensioner lose by removing the spring. That will give you enough slack in the belt to remove the belt off the drum. Next, remove the drain lines coming off the drum and discharge line going out to the drain pipe. CAUTION: Be sure you're ready to catch water with either towels or a bucket. there will be residual water. once that is done you are ready to take off the Three/Four bolts that hold the motor in place. they will be located two on the front of the drum and one/two in the back. Then the motor will dropdown. BE CAREFUL not to drop the motor down on the plastic drain pump. once that is removed take the plastic cover off the old motor and remove the motor from the bracket. install the new motor and installation goes in reverse order as stated. I also replaced the timer for this unit to rule out a bad set of contacts on the timer as well. Take your time and you will be fine. check all connections and be sure to do this work with the power off and disconnect the machine.
