Problem
I melted a plastic chopping board over the burner (oops) and had to replace the burner and burner cap.
Tools
3/16" hex socket driver.
Repair & Advice
1. Clean up mess as well as possible by scraping away melted plastic.
2. Moved oven away from wall, unplugged it, turned off gas.
3. Remove old burner cap, unscrew two 3/16" hex bolts, pry old burner away from stove top.
4. Clean previously inaccessible parts of stove top, being careful not to let anything drop through the now exposed hole. Be especially careful to clean up the spark plug.
5. Reseat new burner, attach using 3/16" hex bolts, place new burner cap over top
6. Plug back in, turn on gas, test burner works. Move oven back into position.
