The old pump was leaking

My friend's washer was leaking water at the bottom of the machine...so much water that it was flowing out into the garage. They -mopped up the area and called me. I located the leak at the bottom of the machine between the pump motor and impeller. The motor and impeller are one complete unit so I shopped on-line and selected the Parts Dr. The parts were shipped with all bushings.

Washer’s pump was getting stuck and after one too many kicks got cracked.

The pump had been getting stuck and causing an error code so for awhile it had to be kicked to get it unstuck. Finally after too many kicks the drain housing cracked. Unfortunately it was realized after an entire wash leaked from the crack. Found the correct part easily on Parts Dr and 2 days later it was delivered and installed. Access panel was already off so access to the pump was easy. Didn’t need to do drain it because it already did. The hardest part was getting the hose clamps opened and back on the hose properly. A good set of water pump pliers will help.

Washer failed to drain and spin

socket set, screwdrivers T-drive

The plastic impeller kept slipping out of the motor housing and extended too far into the pump housing causing it to pump inadequately. Forcing the impeller back into the motor worked temporarily, but it seemed wise to replace the entire part.
