Problem
When motor changed gears it failed to move all the way into position, so washer made a chirping noise. If stopped and restarted it moved to proper place and continued, no chirp. Old belt was 10 yrs in use & slick. Ordered and received oem belt. Slid it on the three pulleys and problem solved. Received belt quickly. Shipping was excellent. Price was not inflated on Parts Dr Happy! 25yr old Maytag runs like new.
Tools
No tools needed. Just tilted washer backward in order to access bottom of machine. Slid old belt off pulleys and new belt on. Done
Repair & Advice
It took some trial and error to get correct diagnosis. My first attempt was to remove motor from plate, clean with brake fluid cleaner, then sand rust, kill rust and paint motor plate. Made plate as slick as possible. Reinstalled motor. Motor still didn't move to proper place everytime it changed from wash cycle to spin and back. That belt as possible reason. So I went ahead and ordered belt and decided to order motor pivot spring jic. Runs quietly now.
