Discolored cooktop covers

Repair & Advice
Contrary to "web advice" you can't just turn the burners counterclockwise to remove them from the cooktop cover. You need to disassemble the bottom portion of the cooktop module first (multiple philips screws), disconnect gas piping (don't lose two washers), remove ignitors and then you can remove the burners from the cooktop (turning ccw). Reassemble and your done. First one took 20 - 30 minutes to figure it out. Second one took 5 minutes.

Problem
Wonderful stove, but boy, those pans under the burners were ugly due to time and use.

Phillips screwdriver
Repair & Advice
Important info that I didn’t have: you don’t need to pull the stove out and dismantle the front and/or top. I tried to pull the pans up, but they wouldn’t budge, so I started dismantling. Turns out that if I’d tried to lever up the pans from the back instead of the sides, they would have come up. To be clear, insert flat pry tool like a flathead screwdriver at the back of a pan and pry it up to remove
