Problem
Broken dispenser drawer latch made of cheap plastic!!
Tools
None needed (other than your finger to push the drawer removal latch down...)
Repair & Advice
So apparently, Frigidaire thinks that it's OK to build a $1000 washing machine with a dispenser drawer that has a very flimsy, $0.10 latch and strike plate made of very cheap plastic. I will say, ours lasted 10 years, but this simple latch should have lasted the life of the machine. I was shocked that I had to purchase the entire drawer instead of just the latch since I didn't need the whole drawer, but that's the only way that Frigidaire sells them. This is really a great money maker for them, but incredibly bad for the consumer. Planned obsolescence to the "Nth" degree!! The strike plate, which is part of the also very cheap plastic front face piece, is also chipped away, but still working, for the time being...
It is readily apparent that the new drawer has a much sturdier latch piece made of a stronger plastic that obviously should have been there in the first place!
That said, Parts Dr had the best price I could find, and they had it in stock at that price. Had to pay for shipping, but it was still less than any other on-line vendor I could find, so good on them!!
If you're used to pulling the drawer out to clean it (like you should be doing), removing the old and installing the new is very simple.

Repair & Advice
After 13 years of use our Electrolux washer got sidelined because the cheap latch on the soap dispenser drawer broke. Parts Dr. had the original equipment replacement in stock and got it to me via regular shipping within a couple of days. Parts Dr. was also the least expensive source I could find for this part so I give them two thumbs up. To replace drawer simply press the release at the back of the drawer and pull the old one out. Remove the nylon rollers from the old drawer ind install on the new drawer. Then slide the new drawer into place.

Repair & Advice
After years of using tape to keep the soap dispenser drawer closed during wash cycle finally replaced. Using Parts Dr. it was very easy to identify and order the correct replacement drawer. The part came within 2 days with regular shipping and fit perfectly. Looks and works much better than tape! Wished I had replaced it years ago.
