Repair & Advice
My wife brought the dogs blanket in from outside and washed it. The pump housing completely clogged up with old leaves and such from the outdoors. I was in the hospital at the time and it was 3 months before my wife told me the washer was broken down. I removed the front access panel, disconnected the pump and rubber boots around it and found the entire thing clogged up. Cleaned everything out and reassembled everything. This all took about 30 minutes because of learning as I went. Washer worked good for 3 loads then stopped draining enough to spin again. I suspected more trash from the drum housing had reclogged the drain pump. I was unable to get back on the floor at this time and we just left it set for about 3 months. When I was able, I removed the pump to clean it out again and found it was not clogged up but some junk form the first time had gotten into the impeller bearing. I started a online parts search for a new pump. All local and most online parts dealers had the same price of $119.99 plus tax and shipping ($12-28) and 4-8 days. I'm disabled and poor so I kept searching. Found this company, PartsDr offering the same factory part for $79. with $9.99 flat rate shipping. I ordered the pump about 2pm and thought it would probably take a week or so to get but savings were worth the time because I could do the repair again for at least another week. The pump arrived at 3pm the very next day. The return address said Idaho, but I never expected next day delivery for this shipping price. The pump sat here for almost a week before I could install it, 12 minutes total install time. The washer has been working perfect for the past few weeks. My wife really understands now, not to bring the dog blanket into the house and wash. The blankets we use are $3.99 Harbour Freight moving pads. Don't wash, replace!!! Total parts cost was $90 with shipping and tax, still saved $30 over just base price of any other parts supplier. I am a customer for life now with Parts Dr. Papadan- Louisville, KY.
