Repair & Advice
Fridgidaire Affinity Dryer was shutting off with error code E68, display was beeping and lights were turning on and off. I did some investigating on the Internet and found I was not the only one having this problem on ~10 year old machine. Decided to swap out the control panel based on comments. After watching YouTube videos showing the process multiple times, I was easily able to make the repairs. Just take your time and take pictures as you go along in case you get distracted and have to look back when reassembling.

Problem
Dryer would only run for maybe 30 seconds then shutdown and display E68. Which means a button Is stuck. If no buttons are stuck and seem to work properly it’s the board that needs to be replaced.
Tools
Philips screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
I found a very helpful online repair man and come across an old conversation they had saved on their website. This was free, and only took a few minutes to find it. Using that website I was able to go to my dryer, use the buttons to enter into a self diagnostics and walk through that process. I was able to figure out that the board needed to be replaced. From there I typed in my search on YouTube and was able to find a repair tutorial on how to replace the board. I was able to get a part number off my old one. Found this website within minutes. Ordered my part, selected the shipping that would satisfy our time needs and had my part in hand in two days. I was able to get new part installed within about 20 minutes. The part description says it doesn’t come with a housing but it did. So I used the new housing. Everything works as should. Yes the part did cost me something but I was able to fix it myself on my schedule; saving the mark up on the part as well as labor costs for repairmen.
