Ice machine dispenser on our Amana fridge was not working

One quarter inch nut-driver

Our ice dispenser is a single-lever, electronically controlled unit that switches between ice and water dispensing using selector buttons on the control pad. The lever was broken on the left side (facing the fridge) and would no longer trigger the activation switch which would release the ice dam or the water shut off. The whole unit --- lever, small control board, light, etc. --- is what I ordered. I ordered via standard shipping, estimated to be about 5 days for delivery. I'm on the east coast, and since it appeared to be coming from California, I figured it would take all 5 days. I was amazed when the part arrived the next day! On this refrigerator, I had never pulled the framing of the in-door unit off, so I wasn't sure how difficult it would be. It was much easier than anticipated. 2 small screws (with hex-nut heads) released the cover and 2 small screws (with hex-nut heads) released the dispensing unit. After that it was simply a matter of putting the light cover from the old unit onto the new (snaps in place), lining up a slot and a tab and seating the new unit into the place of the original unit, replacing the water supply line (which is easily slipped off the old unit), and replace the retaining screws. Replacing the framing around the dispenser opening was as easy as removing it. If you have to replace this unit, be sure to figure in some time to clean up the areas that are otherwise typically inaccessible. They'll be pretty grungy from years of splashes from drinks and normal wear.

The ice marker arm broke plus it wouldn't stop.

Just a screw driver Phillips and flathead.

Could not turn on water or ice in door

The original part on this refrigerator seemed to have a faulty design because this is the second time I had to replace. But this part had some redesign so I hope the weakness is gone.
