Repair & Advice
Turn off power/water then had to remove unit from cabinet to remove and replace the power control module. This took more like a full day to R&R this dishwasher. Works good now!

Repair & Advice
My Bosch 800 Series SHX68T55UC was constantly flashing 'Rinse Aid", and 'Add Salt' on the control panel display. I tried a hard reset of the machine by disconnecting the power, waiting about 10 minutes, and reconnecting the power. After reconnecting the power, the message would re-appear after about 5 seconds. The only other "sign of life" coming from the machine was a beep heard when the power button was pressed.
I theorized that since the control panel did at least display, and respond to the power button with the beep, the problem was with the main control module. The main control module for this unit is located at the bottom back corner of the machine on the right side. The control module is actually the part that the power cord plugs into on the rear of the machine. To change it, first pull the dishwasher out, remove the power cord (unplugs from the back), and use the flat bladed screwdriver to bend the plastic away from the retaining 'nubs' while lifting the module straight up. The module will slide up, and out (a little effort might be required because the slide fit on the power cord end is somewhat tight). The plastic pieces that hold the individual wires in place are removed as units, leaving the wires in place. This can be done with some judicial prying with the flat bladed screwdriver while simultaneously keeping some pressure on the plastic pieces in the direction of removal. Once these are removed, the old module can be removed, and placed aside. Snap the plastic pieces with the wires attached onto the new module, and slide the assembly back down into place on the machine. Reconnect the power cord, and slide the machine back into place. This write up is long because I've tried to include a lot of detail, but the entire operation takes only about 10-15 minutes.
