Problem
Center burner would not ignite; continuous clicking until it was lit with a lighter.
Tools
Screwdriver, drill (remove broken screw).
Repair & Advice
This repair was easier than expected. Though it is not obvious, the Bosch cooktop can be opened WITHOUT removing it from the counter first. Removing the cast burners (2 screws each) and the 5 knobs allows the stainless cooktop cover pan to be lifted off. This allows complete access to all "moving parts", making the repair easy. The electrical connection is simply unplug/replug. One warning; it is unlikely that the small screw that holds the igniter in will survive removal. After the head came off the screw, I simply drilled out the remains, and used a self tapping sheet metal screw to replace it.

Problem
The igniter was shorting through cracks in the ceramic insulation.
Tools
Star Bit driver, drill.
Repair & Advice
The stove is about four years old and some of the mounting screws would not come out. I had to to drill them out. Even without the screw holding the igniter in place it stays and functions well. This is fortunate since the screw material was tougher than the cast material it is in and to drilling and tapping it would have been a "pain".

Repair & Advice
It depends on whether the screws are rusted or not. If they are not rusted then it is very easy. If they are rusted, you have to spend time to take them off.
