Problem
9 year old GE Dryer was making a terrible squeaking noise. Turns out it was the top (plastic) bearing and Teflon slides were wore out.
Tools
I used a Philips screw driver.
Repair & Advice
Removed 3 screws from top plastic panel. Them two screws from top of case. Remove top case. Remove 2 screws from front control panel. Lift off panel and either set on top of dryer or remove ribbon cable connector. Remove two screws holding door panel, on top and loosen two screws on bottle and lift dryer door and panel off and set aside.
Replace damaged bearing with new one and also replace all 4 bearing slides (important).
Gently reassemble. And ENJOY quite dryer....just like new!!

Problem
Dryer drum making a squeaking noise while rotating.
Tools
Screwdriver, vacuum cleaner, silicone spray and rags.
Repair & Advice
Remove the front of the dryer as shown in the videos and thoroughly clean all parts. Replace all damaged/worn parts. I sprayed some silicone spray onto a clean rag and wiped the inside of the drum where it rides on the bearing, and also applied some on the bearing and slides. The dryer is smooth and quiet now!
