Problem
The original control panel buttons stopped working.
Tools
Torx Screwdriver. The best clear silicone caulk I could buy.
Repair & Advice
First of all, the 2-star rating isn't for Parts Dr, it's for the control panel itself. Parts Dr had the best price I could find and the part arrived in less than a week from ordering. I give Parts Dr 5-stars!!!
I'm being generous giving the part 2-stars.
The internal wiring design of this panel is bad. steam condenses on the inside loop of ribbon cable used to connect the panel to the control board wiring harness. After time, the steam erodes the thin ribbon cable insulation and eventually corrodes the ribbon wire itself. This is a common problem with all of the Maytag and Whirlpool dishwashers using this control panel. I know I'm not the first to complain about it on the internet.
Once I received the new panel, I put a heavy coat of clear silicone caulk on both sides of the ribbon cable. I let the caulk cure for about 36 hours before reinstalling the panel. I'm hoping the thick layer of caulk will extend the usual 2 to 3 year lifespan of the control panel.
To remove the control panel I started by removing all screws from inside the dishwasher door. The entire front door panel (not the control panel) will fall off once the screws are removed (be prepared). I then removed the single screw locking in the control panel. Once the screw was removed the control panel came out easily. The only other step is to disconnect the control panel wiring harness from the connector. I plugged in the new panel and reassembled the dishwasher by reversing my steps. Reassembly was a bit more difficult. I had to hold the entire front panel in place while the dishwasher door was open so I could replace all of the screws. I had some help to keep things aligned while I did this.

Problem
Control Panel lights and buttons acting erratic, then not responding at all
Tools
Torx
Repair & Advice
Washer buttons not responding correctly, then eventually wouldn't work at all. Did some research and found a common problem was corroded leads on the ribbon cable. Took the door apart and sure enough, I had the same problem. Chatted with maytag on their website and they gave me the current part number. searched the web and found it here for significantly less than other sites. Received the part in 1 day. installation took about 10 minutes and has been working perfectly since.

The ribbon wire looked corroaded and the buttons weren't working correctly
Tools
Allen wrench
Repair & Advice
Easy fix. The ribbon wire was corroaded for some weird reason. Got a new control panel and the buttons work again. Hopefully the corrosion isnt part of a bigger problem
