Problem
Washing Machine went right into agitation mode without first filling with water
Tools
Screwdriver (maybe a putty knife to push the clips for the cover down) and at least 2 fingers
Repair & Advice
Our 8 year old Whirlpool was going right into agitation mode without first filling with water. After perusing the "interwebs" we ran across Parts Dr. and the forums where many people were having the same issue. After reading through other customers stories and advice we ordered the Pressure Sensor Switch as a first resort - and "wala" it's fixed. Happily it was inexpensive, easy repair. Just pull off the upper cover, locate the switch, "unplug", turn and pull switch out of "socket", plug new switch back in, twist and push back into socket and reattach cover. I build computers as a hobby and I will say this was much easier to repair.

Problem
Agitator started before the tub began filling.
Tools
Putty knife to slide the dashboard clips back to gain access to the inside of the dashboard.
Repair & Advice
This is probably the four time I had to replace this part. This is the first time I completed the repair myself. I got the part very quickly from PartsDr. The only problem was... The part was shipped in a plastic bag inside a shipping blister envelope. The shaft was protruding through both layers of shipping material and a corner was broken off one of the connectors on the backside. I was able to get the part to work but, I would suggest packing the part in a small box to prevent similar damage. I will order from PartsDr again.

Problem
My Kenmore 800 washing machine started agitating while it was still filling up with water. Looking around the web it seemed like my issue was with the load, pressure sensor. The original part was labeled as W1017795. This sensor (WPW10292584) was compatible and was the fix to my issue.
Tools
Putty Knife
Repair & Advice
The top of the machine was easy to pop off with the putty knife. I unplugged the 2 wires and 1 small tube on the defective sensor and quarter twisted it out. Next I twisted in the new sensor and plugged in the 2 wires and 1 small tube. I closed the lid back down and the new sensor fixed the issue.
