Repair & Advice
I determined that my problem was either with the touchpad on the control panel or the control board that the touchpad plugs into. After doing some research I determined that my problem was most likely a short in the touchpad that was causing the buttons to not work all of the time. Installing the new part was very easy. I turned off the breaker to the dishwasher, removed the six screws holding the control panel in place, and then disconnected the ribbon cable. The new touchpad control panel works great and we don't have to hand wash dishes anymore! Thank you Parts Dr for getting the part to us so quickly!

Best price on found online. Ordered on Thursday morning with standard shipping. Went to Costco to buy a bunch of paper plates to get us through the week without the dishwasher. Part came on Saturday morning. That's much faster than calling the repair guy. Watched a YouTube video with a similar model to get an idea of how to do the repair. The video took longer to watch than the actual replacement. Removed inside panel. Took off cover to the control panel. Unplugged touch panel. Replaced it with new part and put it all back together. Saved $150 by replacing it myself and it took me 10 minutes even with the kids screaming in the background while my husband mowed the lawn.

Repair & Advice
This is the fourth time that this dishwasher panel failed; one, just after installation. It was a Kenmore Dishwasher purchased at Sears; previously I've ordered from Sears PartsDirect (SPD), not knowing there are MUCH BETTER suppliers such as PartsDr. After I received the PartsDr price, I contacted Sears, they were double the price; when I asked for a discount due to it being a Kenmore and then number of failures..... they offered 10%, then 15%. Thank you PartsDr. for having the same thing offered and a better price.
