Problem
Stove started to display and error code and the touch pad would no longer work. I was able to look up the error code online and determine the touch pad control panel needed to be replaced.
Tools
Screwdriver.
Repair & Advice
I found a video online that replaced the part (or something very similar) and I decided I could do it. I unscrewed the old control panel (several screws on the side, on the bottom of the panel, and the pulled the knobs off and removed 1 screw by each knob. Removing the ribbon cable gave me the most trouble, just because I was not sure how it came out. But the clip pulled out and the cable slipped right out. The circuit board the ribbon cable attached to had to be unscrewed and attached to the new panel - 4 screws, easy. I swapped out the old part and installed the new part, and then secured everything back in place with the screws. I had this same part replaced years ago by a service person and spent a lot more money. This really was an easy repair and did not require any special tools.

Repair & Advice
The part was exactly what I needed to fix my problem, and the price was the best I could find. It shipped the same day I ordered it and arrived in 2 days. No complaints at all. It came in the OEM Whirlpool box and was in new condition. As for the repair itself, I did not look for any instructions online, I just went for it. There were really no surprises as I went through the process. The only real difficulty I experienced was trying to get the panel back on with all the holes lined up so I could get all the screws back in.
