Screwdriver, shop vac, small brushes

This was not a "difficult" repair but took awhile as the dryer had to be taken apart. But that effort pays off in order to also completely clean the unit of lint that is not reachable without opening up the unit. The cleaning ate up some time but went well using a shop vac and small brush to get between the fan blades, and the vent cavity, and a medium brush to clean along the fabric drum edge gasket. All went well in changing out the heating element, and putting the dryer back together. It is working like a charm again!

The part arrived earlier than the estimated time, and it couldnt have gone smoother.

Thermal fuse blown / Heating coil burnt

Screw driver, pliers, hand broom/brush, vaccum cleaner

Appeared to have a lint fire inside the heating element. The internal exhaust pipe had become detached at some point causing lint to build inside of dryer. I had new drum rollers that I was planning on installing, and this was the perfect opportunity. Wish I would have got to it sooner as I would have noticed the lint leaking inside the dryer and prevented further issues. After installing new parts and spending a ton of time cleaning lint out of everything, my dryer is working again and is as quiet as it was when new. There are dryer disassembly videos online. Just take your time, be patient, and it will go smoothly.
