Problem
Washer would fill with water but would not run after. I cut the two wires on the lid switch and temporarily wired and taped them together with electrical tape to get it to work, while the part was on order.
Tools
Screwdriver, small wrench.
Repair & Advice
Removed the two screws on the top back, popped the plastic end caps off the control panel sides, removed the two screws in the front bottom corners, removed the two screws on the lid switch, removed the screw underneath the inside tub area for the ground wire. Installed the new switch in reverse order. The most difficult part was not dropping the ground screw inside the tub area and getting it back in, but luckily all went well.

Problem
Washing machine would not go into spin cycle.
Tools
Screw driver (Philips head).
Repair & Advice
Removed control panel, disconnected the lid switch, and opened the shell of the washing machine to gain access to the lid switch. Did the reverse after replacing the switch. Also recommend cleaning under the control panel if there is any loose detergent, etc., while it is accessible; mine was in good shape despite being 20 years old, but still wiped it down.
