Problem
The oven was turning itself on randomly, even though the thermostat knob was in the off position. We were forced to leave the oven unplugged unless we were using it.
Tools
Phillips head screwdriver
Repair & Advice
Make sure the oven is unplugged. Remove burner racks and lift oven top. From inside oven, remove old thermostat from two retaining clips. Pull thermostat out through hole in oven top. Remove thermostat knob by pulling straight towards you. Remove two screws behind knob, and two top mount screws to oven facing. Disconnect both wire terminals to thermostat. Remove entire thermostat unit. Reverse these steps to install new thermostat, making sure you reconnect wire terminals before replacing all screws.
