Repair & Advice
One day after using the oven we smelled a strong odor of gas. I checked the stove top burners, which were fine but when I opened up the oven the gas odor was strong. I had purchased a small gas detector from Home Depot and checked all gas lines, connections and then the removed the burner rail from the gas safety valve to check it. The detector was pegged so I knew that i had to unplug the electrical cord and secure the main gas valve in the kitchen. I viewed some videos on replacing safety valves and just did my best to do it safely. The replacement part I got from here was perfect and has worked exactly as it should. I did break my ignitor in the process but then replaced it as well.
