Repair & Advice
At least 3 functionally equivalent resisters are available from various sources. My advice is not buy till you electrically isolate the resistor (disconnect it) and test it with a multimeter to be sure you need one. Also you can can compare the new one's ohm reading when it arrives, with the old one's to confirm problem identification. Evidently, in my model, the timer advance motor runs on 220 volt electricity reduced to 110 volts by passing through the resistor in the delicate and normal drying modes, but receives the 110 volts it needs directly from a different part of the circuit in the other operating modes (air dry and timed dry). When the resistor burns out, NO electricity at all passes through it, just as if it had been removed altogether. So, nothing get too much voltage - the timer advance motor just doesn't get any at all, in those two vulnerable modes.
