Problem
My freezer went through a flooded basement. This part and a capacitor were the only electronic components to suffer a failure. Upon replacing both parts, my freezer is back to its working condition.
Tools
Pliers to remove retaining spring.
Repair & Advice
I unplugged freezer from outlet, then removed the retaining spring, removed controller and capacitor as a single unit, assembled new controller to new capacitor, plugged new unit into freezer, replaced retaining spring, then plugged the freezer back into the wall outlet. After about 2 hrs I checked the freezer, and found it was working as it should.

Problem
Frigidaire upright freezer was in a flooded basement. The starter component broke. This part, plus the capacitor was replaced to fix the compressor.
Tools
Pair of pliers to remove retaining clip.
Repair & Advice
Unplug the electrical cord, remove the retaining clip, remove the starter and capacitor as a single unit, I personally use dielectric grease on tabs and slots before reassembling, assemble the capacitor and starter, then reassemble to the compressor, replace retaining clip, and finally plug back in the electrical cord.

Problem
Freezer would get cold, but then after a defrost cycle would not restart the compressor.
Tools
Screwdriver. Very, very easy.
Repair & Advice
Lost the contents of the freezer, went on the fritz while on vacation, about $750 of steaks and seafood. Unable to order a new freezer, decided to attempt a fix. A few YouTube Videos later, I decided this was the part I needed.
