Drier would beep incessantly, would not run in any mode.

Drier quit working. Lights would flash, and it would beep, but it would not run. Looked up error code and it was either a stuck button on the main control board, or it was a bad main control board. Took the original board out hoping it would be a stuck button (two screws on the back of the top and then slide the top towards the back. 4 screws and 2-3 electrical plugs holding the front panel on. Another 6-8 screws holding the main control board and housing to the front panel.) No dice. Purchased this replacement board, reassembled in the reverse order, and I'm a hero in my wife's eyes. We are an active family and we have 3 kids. We run through a LOT of laundry in a weeks time. It's nice to have our drier back. Be careful with the new board and the housing. The board snaps in with plastic tabs. Don't pry on anything. Find what's holding it in place and gently release the tabs. You don't want to break something else trying to fix it.

Our dryer would stop unexpectedly, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes longer. Most of the time, there was no heat, but intermittently heat would come on. With the stoppages, all the LED lights on the right would blink. I checked the exhaust tubing and outside vent. There was excellent airflow and no lint accumulation or obstruction of any kind. Internet research revealed two others with the same problem seeking advice. In both cases, replacement of the control board was recommended by appliance experts. In one case, the customer had replaced the control board successfully with resolution of the problem.

With the help of a YouTube video, removing the old control board and installing a new one was rather simple. Initially, I unplugged the dryer from the wall. There were two screws in the back of the cabinet which allowed removal of the top. Then were then four screws to remove the upper front panel of the dryer. Following this, removal of the screws attaching the control board to the panel was quite easily achieved. There were also three electrical connections which needed to be removed. The plastic lenses and a small black module with the LED digits from the old control board were than installed on the new control board. Subsequently, the process was reversed with installation of the new control board and reassembly of the dryer. The whole repair took about 90 minutes and successfully resolved the problem. Word to the wise: keep the upper dryer panel facing down after removing it; there are buttons and springs which can fall out.
