Problem
Dishwasher not filling with water
Tools
Pliers, screwdriver and a wrench
Repair & Advice
Let me start by saying that I love my Bosch dishwasher and when it started to not do it's usual job of cleaning the dishes I was sad to think that I would have to replace it, even though it is almost 14 years old and this might seem like a logical thing to do. I was pretty sure that there were a few more good years left and did a little research on the internet about what the problem could be. It became pretty clear that I would have to replace the water inlet valve, the same part that I replaced on our washing machine last summer, we have really crummy water where I live so this is not surprising. I watched a couple of videos on how to do it, ordered the part, which came super fast, and proceeded with the repair. I was a little nervous because the new part is slightly different in that the solonoid (sp?) is in a different position so reinstalling the wires was reversed, but other than that, easy peasy! Mission accomplished! If I can do it, I'm a stay at home, you can too!!!!!

Problem
Dishwasher was filling with water when not being used. This was after completely draining. Hours later after cycle was complete.
Tools
Open end wrench, torx screwdriver
Repair & Advice
I thought the dishwasher was not draining after its cycle. Looked for clogged screens or maybe drain pump was bad or hose was clogged. Discover by cancelling the cycle water would drain completely. However hours later, water was at the bottom of the dishwasher. I would drain it and it would come back. We would also hear the dishwasher pump start and pump some water out hours after the cycle was complete. I finally determined the water valve was leaking letting water to slowly fill the dishwasher again. New valve fixed the problem.

Problem
The dishwasher was powering on, but would just hum. No water was coming into the dishwasher.
Tools
Normally a Phillips-head screwdriver and a couple of wrenches, but I had to work around some other issues.
Repair & Advice
The repair is pretty straightforward, turn off the water. Remove the kick panel from the front, bottom of the dishwasher (two screws). Disconnect the water supply line, remove four small screws, loosen the hose clamp, disconnect the electrical leads, remove the water line from the back of the water inlet valve. The hardest part because of a tight fitting hose and limited space to move your hands. Then do the reverse to install the new part.
